Several weeks ago, we read a story in our anthology called "The Red-Eyed Tree Frog." The kids were very interested in the rainforest, so I set up a center with various activities for them to do independently. After learning about rainforest animals, they could use paper to create their own animals and plants to add to the four layers of the rainforest.
This is the finished project! I made the trees, they did the rest, totally on their own! They made snakes, monkeys, iguanas, centipedes, tree frogs, butterflies, birds, flowers, vines, grass, and lots more. Some of those monkeys swinging on the vines are even holding bananas. Didn't they do a great job?
